About Us

Specialised Support Services (WA) was built on a very simple belief: people deserve more from their Support Coordinator than someone who answers emails, makes referrals and checks whether there is enough funding left in a plan.
They deserve someone who genuinely cares about what happens next.
For our team, this has never been “just a job”. We chose this work because we genuinely love what we do, and because being able to make life a little easier, safer or more hopeful for another person means something to us personally.

We take a vested interest in every participant we work alongside. We get to know the person behind the NDIS plan – what matters to them, what makes life difficult, what makes them laugh, what they want for their future, who is important to them and what a good life actually looks like in their eyes.

That relationship matters.

Because when you genuinely know someone, you notice when something isn’t right. You follow things up. You ask more questions. You advocate harder. You celebrate progress that might seem small to somebody else but means everything to that person. And when things become complicated, you don’t simply pass the problem on – you work alongside the participant, their family and their support network to find a way forward.
We do things differently
We are deliberately not a high-volume coordination service.

We believe Support Coordination and Specialist Support Coordination are most effective when there is genuine connection, consistency and accountability. Our participants are not files in a system, and our relationships with them are not transactional.

  • We know their stories.
  • We know their goals.
  • And we care about their outcomes.
That means being proactive rather than waiting for a crisis. It means following up when something has gone unanswered, bringing the right people together when a support system is becoming fragmented, challenging decisions when they do not reflect a participant’s needs, and making sure the people involved in someone’s life are working towards the same outcome.

Sometimes our role is strategic and complex. Sometimes it is advocacy. Sometimes it is finding a solution nobody has considered yet. And sometimes it is simply being a consistent person in someone’s corner when everything else feels overwhelming.

Professional expertise, with heart

Specialised Support Services (WA) is a registered NDIS provider, and professionalism, accountability and high-quality practice are fundamental to the way we operate.

But qualifications, systems and NDIS knowledge are only part of what makes an exceptional coordinator.

The other part cannot be taught in a policy manual. It is compassion. Curiosity. Persistence. Integrity. The ability to sit with somebody during the difficult parts, recognise their strengths when they cannot see them themselves, and care enough to keep looking for a better solution.

Our team brings extensive experience across mental health, psychosocial disability, neurodiversity, complex support needs and community services, but just as importantly, we bring genuine humanity to our work.

We don’t believe participants should have to continually retell their story to people who barely know them. We believe in building relationships, earning trust and understanding the bigger picture so that the support we coordinate actually makes sense for the individual receiving it.

Small enough to care. Experienced enough to make a difference.
Being a smaller, specialised organisation is something we are proud of.

It allows us to remain connected to the people we support and maintain the personal approach that Specialised Support Services (WA) was founded on. As we grow, protecting that culture remains one of our greatest priorities.

We never want to become an organisation where participants feel like numbers.

We want the people we support to know that when they call us, the person on the other end understands their situation. When something matters to them, it matters to us. And when we say we are going to do something, there is someone accountable for following it through.

Because ultimately, this work is about people. It is about helping someone find stability after years of instability. Helping a family finally feel heard. Finding the right home, the right team or the right support. Helping somebody build confidence, independence and a life that feels like their own.

Those are the moments that keep us doing what we do. This is our profession, but it is also our passion, our heart and something we genuinely love doing. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.
